New Year and Making Goals

Are your goals for the new year go big or go home? I have tried that and failed. I have tried the little goals of - just be kinder, set a small goals for the week (wash all the bedding every Monday - it does get done once a week but its a rotating day, fold clothes as is comes out of the dryer, vacuum 3 times a week, walk the dog daily, exercise daily, etc...) FAILED!!! I just cooked for days for the holidays and have said OH you get its leftovers again and everyone fends for themselves tonight. DOES EVERYONE HEAR ME? DO NOT ASK ME FOR FOOD.

I am looking forward to 2022, sort of. Going into my second year being self-employed. This past year I was focused on establishing clients, partnerships and securing contracts for work. I surprised myself and the stars aligned. IT has been a big change from always direct hire salary to running your own business.

As many of us have adjusted over the past couple years there is more opportunity to work remotely or another type of split schedule. I started training for this work style years ago when my job that was an onsite position in Detroit at a healthcare system transitioned over to the national team that was located out of state where I became a remote worker. Both positions were demanding. I thought the transition would allow for more selfcare. Being a mom and now being at home working it just seemed to fill my time more with work and kids.

Then when I started my own company because of the pandemic and had gotten furloughed. I focused hard on getting clients to fill that fulltime income. I did pretty good but fell into the habit as almost being on call. Not really taking advantage of owning my own company. I thought once I started my own company I would exercise daily, walk the dog daily, do grocery shopping (any shopping during the week in off hours), possibly pop into church during the week for mass, besides household chores... NOPE NOPE NOPE. I get up anywhere from 4am - 6am (depending on what the husband's work schedule is) and I would start to work for all my clients. I might run to the store for minimal groceries after dropping the girls off at school but no full blown grocery shopping. The poor dog ya he didn't get daily walks. We got some good stretches but if I had time I would start to network to try to drum up more work.

CAN ANYONE RELATE??

So 2022.. I have my Tammy list

  1. Start my blog

  2. Network more

  3. Make my current clients happy

  4. Walk the dog and myself for both our happiness

  5. Don't beat myself up cause I thought I should do more or what I thought others thought I should of did.

And I think #4 might need to move to the first spot. I might need to start an accountability squad.
