There is Gnome Place Like Home

I love crafts. I like creating custom items that aren't like the standard items that can be found in the store. I showed some friends a porch sign I made myself for Christmas and before I knew it I was asked to make 10 more. It was flattering but it became pretty comical. It was like I was being invaded by gnomes. I hand painted each gnome and made a custom stencil for the words.

Here is what I learned. I set up multiple boards at a time to paint in steps and DON'T rush the dry time. Make sure to build in the multiple days this will take to thoroughly dry.

  1. Background, dry

  2. Paint gnome, dry

  3. Stencil words, dry

  4. Touch up where needed

  5. DRY overnight

  6. Seal and dry another 2-3 days before delivery
